How we got into racing
Just about everyone in our immediate family has raced something before. Jay and Roylene Schumer (parents of Jr. drivers) used to race a '65 Nova at Bonneville Raceway before we got into the Juniors. Jay's younger sister Jennifer also raced her '67 Cougar in the High School Bracket at Bonneville Raceway. The oldest son in the family got into the juniors first. He raced for about 4 years. Julie, the second oldest, isn't really into racing, and has never raced. Christy, third oldest, got into it in 1997 when she was ten, and this upcoming season is her 7th year. Then the youngest child got into it as soon as he could! When Travis turned eight, he got his little red car and raced in Idaho once or twice his first year. This upcoming season is his 5th year. |

We have sold our Juniors and are MOVIN UP!
Christy Schumer is currently competing in the High School bracket at Rocky Mountain Raceways. Her first outing she scored semi-final honors! Continue checking up to see how the season progresses!
Travis Schumer has decided to sell his Jr and get a 4-wheeler. He still occasionaly goes to the track, but doesn't race.
SILLY BOYS....
RACING IS FOR GIRLS!! |
Racing The Nova
We have a '65 Chevy Nova -both Jay (DAD) and Roylene (MOM) used to race the Nova. They both did very well, winning numerous races, and making a name for themselves. When David first got into racing, we raced both the Jr., and the Nova. THAT was a challenge! But they stopped racing it so the kids could race Juniors. We have just recently sold the Nova to a guy in Las Vegas, NV.
